The machinations of the exiled gods are revealed, and Night Mage Verena “Wren” Harker and her Shield, tiger-shifter Aris Valorius, must hurry if they are to intercept the god of water before he is unleashed on their world.

The Queen of Snakes plans to put the Books of Gold, Silver, and Bronze into play, and the fate of their world hangs in the balance. The immortal scales, however, have a terrible cost.
